Crafting themed programmes, often with a collaborative or multimedia aspect, is an important part of what we do. Our projects often explore links between great musicians of the past and their aesthetic worlds, which might encompass such things as close friendships between trusted colleagues, special architectural surroundings, or perhaps simply the wider context of musical genres and conventions - at least as we understand them hundreds of years later. Ultimately, though, they are designed in this way simply to give structure (and some historical background) to expressive, intense and truly contemporary musical experiences.
The format of these events is wide-ranging, and includes full-length performances interspersing music, art and readings, alongside much smaller-scale instrumental concerts and education projects.
